This is a quick and healthy recipe for an alternative to ice cream, and is particularly popular with children. You will need a mixer or handheld blender (or as I call it, a zshusher)
- 1 peeled frozen banana per portion
- Plain yogurt (optional)
Simply take your frozen banana and use a mixer or handheld stick blender to blend the banana until it’s smooth. You can serve it as it is or stir in a couple of spoons of yogurt to make it more creamy. If you’re feeling decadent, top with sprinkles or chocolate sauce.
This mocktail is super simple, and is almost as refreshing as a gin and tonic…almost…
- Tonic water
- Lime juice or cordial
- Lime to garnish
Pour the juice of one lime or a dash of cordial into a tall glass, top up with tonic water and garnish with a slice of lime.
A tasty and definitely not good for you sandwich… well it’s got cheese in, that’s protein, right?!
- Bread, sliced
- Strong cheddar or red leicester cheese
- Garlic clove
- Parsley, about half a small handful
Finely chop the garlic clove and the parsley and mix into the butter. Melt some of the butter in a saucepan and fry the bread in it until golden brown on one side.
Take the bread out of the saucepan, add thin slices of your chosen cheese to the unfried side of one slice. Place the other slice on top, with the fried side facing upwards. Grate a little more cheese onto the top of the sandwich and place under a medium grill until the cheese is melted.
